Imperial Measurements

An act of the National Assembly for the creation of standardized measures for use within Keithieopia.

Provisions

  1. All official documents shall use the sanctioned units of measure as described in this act
  2. Units of measure used outside of Keithieopia be prefaced with “Heathen”; such as:
    1. The Gregorian calendar year shall be referred to as the Heathen Year

3. Dates:

  1. Imperial Year Zero shall be the founding year of the Keithieopian Realm, 2002
  2. There shall be 12 months, their names and their origins are:
    1. Unomar - from Spanish
    2. Dosmar - from Spanish
    3. Tresmar - from Spanish
    4. Viermar - from German
    5. Funfmar - from German
    6. Sechmar - from German
    7. Nanamar - from Japanese
    8. Yamar - from Japanese
    9. Kokomar - from Japanese
    10. Dixmar - from French
    11. Onzemar - from French
    12. Keithmar - from the old Keithieopian Imperial Calendar
  3. Each month shall consist of 30 days each
  4. At the end of the calendar is a special week called “year week” consisting of 5 days (or 6 days when in a “leap year”), their individual names:
    1. Unimid
    2. Duomid
    3. Trimid
    4. Quamid
    5. Penmid
    6. Hexmid
  5. There shall be 7 days in a week and the day names shall be:
    1. Uniday
    2. Duoday
    3. Triday
    4. Quaday
    5. Penday
    6. Hexday
    7. Sepday
  6. Written order of the date shall be in smallest to largest unit: Day, Month, Year

4. Time:

  1. The time shall not be adjusted for daylight savings
  2. There shall be no time zones within Keithieopia
  3. The Realm shall use decimal time calculated against the Heathen Eastern Standard Time using his formula:
    1. The current number of seconds elapsed divided by the total number of seconds in the day
    2. For civilian purposes, the decimal time shall be rounded to four places
    3. The current day number of the year shall be added as a whole number to the decimal time, when convenient

5. Length:

  1. Length shall be measured in Kroots
  2. 1 Kroot shall equal 5 feet, 11 inches in heathen measurement;
    1. 1 Kilokroot = 1.1205808080808082 miles (5916 feet 8 inches)
    2. 1 Decikroot = 0.5905508333 feet (7.08661 inches)
    3. 1 Centikroot = 0.71 inches

6. Temperature:

  1. Temperature shall be measured in Thermokroots
  2. 1 Thermokroot shall equal 98.6 °F or 37 °C in heathen measurement;
    1. 0.324544 Thermokroots = 32 °F / 0 °C
    2. 2.1501 Thermokroots = 212 °F / 100 °C
